Cheap flights from the UK to Europe

We’re a small UK-based editorial team writing about flights — the cheap ones, mostly. We track fares out of British airports, road-test the budget carriers honestly, and dig into European destinations that quietly punch above their weight. No affiliate noise, no inflated bargains, no listicles padded with sponsored slots. Just three things we keep coming back to:

What we actually write about

UK air travel is a peculiar market. We sit on the edge of Europe with five major hub airports, six low-cost carriers, and Brexit-era visa quirks that change which destinations are easy and which need planning. We try to translate that into useful, honest writing.

  • Real prices, not headline fares. Every quoted range includes the things airlines pretend aren’t part of the ticket — cabin bags, seat selection, payment fees.
  • Routes from your actual airport. Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Bristol matter as much as Heathrow. We try not to be London-myopic.
  • Destinations beyond the obvious. Tirana, Sofia, Wroclaw and Porto are quietly some of the best-value city breaks in Europe. We give them the same care as the famous ones.
  • Honest carrier reviews. Ryanair’s policy quirks, Wizz Air’s hand-bag rules, easyJet’s silent baggage upcharges. We name them.

About us

Freedom Flights is independent. We’re not owned by an airline, a travel platform, or a price-comparison site. We don’t take payment to recommend specific carriers. The site is funded by occasional editorial partnerships — currently one Pristina-based agency that handles outbound packages for travellers in Albania and Kosovo. We disclose that openly on the About page.

If you’re new to budget airlines, start with our flight-finding playbook — the techniques that actually work and the ones that are just airline mythology.
