Unaccompanied minors
Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted for travel with Freedom Flights; therefore it is not possible for children under 16 to travel unaccompanied. An adult, aged 18 or over, must accompany children under 16 years.
Minors accompanied by someone other than their Parent(s) or Legal Guardian
XL Airways does not accept anyone under the age of 16 for travel unless they are accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
If you are travelling with a minor and are not the legal guardian or parent you and/or the minor may be stopped and/or detained by Immigration.
XL Airways will not accept any liability for any action taken by Immigration and will not provide a refund for any unused flight seats or cover the costs of any additional expenses incurred under these circumstances.
We recommend that parents/guardians provide a signed letter of consent fully naming the person authorised to travel with their child, detailing the reason for travel and providing a contact number and address for the parent/guardian. A copy of the photograph page of the parent/guardians passport should also be carried and should clearly depict all details on the page including full name and passport number.
Please note: This is a recommendation only and does not guarantee entry or exit to or from any destination or arrival airport.

- Babies and infants must be over two weeks of age.
- Sky cots are only available on XL Airways long-haul flights, subject to availability.
- Car seats are acceptable for infants between the ages of 6-36 months providing that during take off/landing, the infant is seated on the parent/guardian's lap with an extension seatbelt and also that a seat is purchased.
- An adult must accompany each infant less than 6 months. Additional infants aged between 6 months and 2 years, must either be accompanied by an adult or in a car seat.
- Nappy changing facilities are available on all XL Airways aircraft.
- Meals are not provided for infants but the cabin crew are happy to warm baby food if required.
- Although Infants do not have a free baggage allowance, nappies, collapsible pushchairs and buggies will be accepted in addition to the parents allowance.
- If an infant turns 2 years old whilst on holiday then child's ticket will need to be purchased for the round trip.
Expectant mothers
After 28 weeks of pregnancy, prior notification of travel must be given to XL Airways. A medical certificate will be required stating the stage of pregnancy for the homeward flight and confirming fitness to fly. Expectant mothers will be accepted for carriage up to the end of the 33rd week of pregnancy, on the return journey.
We recommend that all expectant mothers carry a medical certificate for intended travel.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited on all flights.
